Thermal Lamination Films
Thermal Lamination Films use a combination of heat and pressure to lamination paperboard and film - the adhesive (EVA/LD) used in this process is pre - coated on the base film through extrusion coating. In the final film one side have properties of BOPP/polyster  film and the other one becomes heat sensitive surface used for dry lamination.

The Thermal Films produced by Max Speciality Films are targeted at high-end applications for the lamination and encapsulation of quality products.

Depending on the type of base film used in the coating process, thermal films may be categorized as follows:
Bi Axially POLYPROPYLENE is a more economical over laminate with excellent clarity and brightness. Because polypropylene is a softer film...

The industry's most popular film. A general-purpose over laminating film with good clarity and gloss. Polyester is an extremely durable product....
Key Application Areas

Preservation

Protection
Thermal Lamination Films are used for protecting valuable documents and items like Maps, Contracts and Blueprints.

Enhancement
Thermal Lamination Films are used for enhancing the visual appeal of Graphs, Flash Cards, Policies, Visual Aids, Advertisement Pullouts, Business Material and POP Material.

Displays
Thermal Lamination Films are used for visually enriching the impact of Regulation Signs, Emergency Instructions, Safety Signage, etc.

Thermal Lamination V. Wet Lamination - A Comparison
Thermal Lamination Wet Lamination
Delamination does not occur Water-based adhesives do not have strong bonding characteristics and hence, the chances of Delamination occurring are high.
Sheet separation is immediate One has to wait for the adhesive to "cure" before separating the sheets
No sheet wrinkling The moisture in water-based adhesive can cause wrinkling
The clean up operation is easy. All functions are automated. Thus, only one operator is needed. So production can be streamlined with higher output levels. Cleaning takes a lot of time. More than one operator is needed to monitor the equipment. The sheets must be separated off-line. Thus, sheet production rates cannot be compared to the Dry (Thermal) process.

Specialised Applications - UV Lacquering
UV Lacquering serves to enhance the aesthetic appeal of a specific print area by highlighting that portion. The process is quick and offers superior bonding and brighter images that have no residual by-products in terms of odour or taste.

Key Advantages:
  • No loss of Coating thickness
  • Less energy consumption
  • Lower waste emission and pollutant
